Being a believer, I often wondered about the mindset of Judas, the betrayer of Jesus. What were his true motivations? What were the thoughts running through his mind when he saw the result of his actions? And how much grief must he have been in to resort to take his own life? This piece is what I envision as the last expression of Judas; his eyes when he finally realized what was to happen.

Created in March 2003, 'Judas' Eyes' was drawn completely in prismacolor pencils and has twice been an award winner. It's fine details lends to a realistic feel and enhances the emotion shown in the face and eyes. It is an intriguing composition that shows a different side to a momentous story in history.
